Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about registering as a nurse in the UK or Ireland.
Getting started
Which countries does GlobalNurse support?+
GlobalNurse currently supports full registration pathways for the United Kingdom (NMC) and Ireland (NMBI). Other countries are in active development and will be announced when ready.
How does the eligibility check work?+
You enter your qualifications, experience, documents, and test scores. Our rules engine compares them against the real registration requirements for your chosen country and returns a percentage score, a list of what's missing, and a recommended next step. No AI guesswork, just deterministic rules matched to official requirements.
Is my information kept private from recruiters?+
Yes. Recruiters only ever see minimal matching fields: years of experience, specialty, target country, and eligibility percentage. Your name, documents, test scores, and contact details stay private unless you choose to engage with a specific opportunity.
The UK pathway
What's the order of steps for the UK?+
You sit the CBT (Computer-Based Test) in your home country first. Once you find a sponsoring employer and relocate to the UK, you then sit the OSCE (practical exam). Both are required before you can complete NMC registration.
Do I need a job offer before I can start?+
No. You can complete your CBT before securing a role. Many nurses use their CBT pass to strengthen job applications while searching for a sponsoring employer.
The Ireland pathway
What is an NMBI Decision Letter?+
After you apply to NMBI, they assess your qualifications and send a Decision Letter. If a compensation measure is required, the letter explains your two options: an Aptitude Test (RCSI-coordinated, two parts: theory then OSCE) or a supervised Adaptation Period (minimum six weeks). Receiving this letter is what unlocks your search for sponsorship-friendly jobs.
Do I complete the Aptitude Test or Adaptation Period before or after moving to Ireland?+
After. The Decision Letter lets you start searching for a sponsoring employer from your home country. Once you have a job and the required visa/Atypical Working Scheme permission, you travel to Ireland to complete whichever route you chose.
Account & security
Can I add two-factor authentication?+
Yes. Under Settings you can enable an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.) as a second sign-in step. No phone number or extra personal data is collected for this.
Can I download or delete my data?+
Yes, at any time from Settings. "Download my data" exports everything we hold about you as a file. "Delete my account" permanently and immediately removes your account and all associated documents, test scores, and roadmaps.
